TikTok says too many posts
TikTok refused a post because the account posted too much. Reelazy drops that account to 1 post a day for 7 days, and nothing is lost.
A post failed with "TikTok has paused posting for this account because too many posts were made in a short time. Try again later." The account now shows Slow down · 1 post a day. This is TikTok's spam limit, and Reelazy handles most of it for you.
What you'll see
| Where | What it says |
|---|---|
| The failed post | "TikTok has paused posting for this account because too many posts were made in a short time. Try again later." |
| The account's status | Slow down · 1 post a day, with "TikTok said it posted too much on Nov 3. One post a day until Nov 10." |
| Posts moved in Calendar | "TikTok said this account posted too much, so it posts once a day for now. Moved to a day after the last post. New time: …", in grey, with the new time in your time zone |
| Make posts | The same reason, then "Only the earliest time is used." |
| The account's health card | Spam warnings from TikTok: "Too many posts", with the date |
A close cousin is "This account has too many posts still being processed by TikTok. Wait for them to finish, then try again." Reelazy treats it the same way.
What Reelazy does
- 1 post a day for 7 days, counted from TikTok's answer. After that the account goes back to its usual pace by itself.
- Nothing is dropped. Each scheduled post that would go out too soon moves to a day after the last post that went out.
- New batches follow the slower pace. Make posts and the Assistant use only the earliest posting time each day until the 7 days are over.
- The failed post is tried again later if it was scheduled. If it still fails, press Retry in Calendar after a day.
What you can do
- Let the 7 days run. You don't need to change any settings.
- If the account uses Inbox, open the TikTok app and finish or delete the drafts waiting in your inbox, so fewer posts are pending there.
- When the account is back to normal, keep a steady pace instead of bursts. See Account pace.
If TikTok blocks posting through apps
A harder answer is "TikTok has blocked this account from posting through apps. Post from the TikTok app instead." The account then shows Restricted · no posts for now, with "TikTok blocked posting through apps on Nov 3. Post from the TikTok app until Dec 3."
For 30 days, Make posts won't start new posts for that account, and scheduled posts don't go out: when a post's time comes, it moves to the first free time after the 30 days (posts 10 minutes apart), with "TikTok blocked this account from posting through apps for 30 days. Moved to the first free time after that. New time: …". Unschedule them in Calendar if you post them yourself.
Post from the TikTok app in that time: open a post you already made and download its slides with ZIP.
Note: Reelazy also keeps Direct posts to at most 6 in any 24 hours per account. A post over that moves with "Daily direct-post limit reached for this account (6 in 24 hours). Moved to the next free time. New time: …". That's Reelazy's own cap, not a warning from TikTok.
Why it happens
TikTok decides when an account has posted too much in a short time, and answers a post with this error. Reelazy can't see that limit ahead of time, so it slows the account down the moment TikTok says so. New accounts post at most 2 a day while they warm up; accounts in good standing up to 10.
