An account needs reconnecting
TikTok signed Reelazy out of an account, so nothing posts to it. Reconnect it in a minute; its posts and schedule stay.
Reelazy says "TikTok signed it out" next to an account, or you got an email titled "Reconnect @yourapp". Until you reconnect, nothing can be posted to that account. Its scheduled posts wait On hold and go out after you reconnect.
What you'll see
- Accounts: "Signed out by TikTok" on the account's row, with a Reconnect button.
- Today: under Needs your attention, "Reconnect account: TikTok signed it out".
- The account's Settings tab, under TikTok and posting: "TikTok signed it out: reconnect to keep posting".
- Calendar: posts marked On hold that say "On hold: TikTok signed this account out. Reconnect it and this post goes out at the next free time." The post TikTok refused when it signed the account out shows Failed with "TikTok access expired. Reconnect the account and try again."
- Make posts: "Connect (or reconnect) this account's TikTok first, so the posts can be scheduled."
- Email: "TikTok signed Reelazy out of @yourapp, so nothing can be posted to it."
Fix it
- Open tiktok.com in the same browser and check which TikTok account is signed in. It must be the account you're reconnecting, for example @yourapp. If it's another one, sign out there first.
- In Reelazy, click Reconnect. It's on the Accounts page, under Needs your attention on Today, on the account's Settings tab, and on each post in Calendar that is on hold or failed because of it.
- TikTok shows its permission screen. Check the account name, then allow everything it asks for: posting, and the stats permissions if you want views in Reelazy.
- You come back to Reelazy, and the account shows as connected again.
- Posts on hold go out by themselves within a minute or two: the first one right away, the rest 10 minutes apart (Direct posts also stay within 6 in 24 hours). Each says "Its time passed while TikTok had this account signed out. Moved to the next free time. New time: …". Posts scheduled for later go out at their time.
- Open Calendar and press Retry after reconnecting on any post that shows Failed.
Note: Reconnecting the same TikTok account keeps its posts and schedule, and it doesn't count as a new account on your plan.
Warning: If you allow a different TikTok account on TikTok's screen, Reelazy treats it as a new account, not a reconnect. It shows under "TikTok accounts not set up yet" on Accounts, or you're told your plan has no room for it. The old account stays signed out.
Messages after reconnecting
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| "The account was connected without posting permission. Reconnect and grant all requested permissions." | Reconnect again and leave every permission on. |
| "Connected · stats off: reconnect and allow them" | Posting works. Reconnect and allow stats to see views in Reelazy. |
| "Invalid OAuth state, please try again" | TikTok's screen was open more than 10 minutes, or opened twice. Click Reconnect again. |
| "This TikTok account is already connected to another user" | That account belongs to a different Reelazy login. Sign in with that one, or contact support. |
Why it happens
Reelazy renews its access to your TikTok account by itself. When TikTok refuses, for example because the access expired or was withdrawn in TikTok, Reelazy can't post to the account until you sign in with TikTok again. TikTok's own permission screen is the only way to give that access back.
See Connect your TikTok account for the first connection, and A post failed to send for other failures.
