A post failed to send

What each failed-post message means, which ones fix themselves, and how to retry or remove a post that didn't reach TikTok.

A post shows Failed in Calendar, or "failed" next to its time in Today's week view. You may also get an email titled "A post failed on @yourapp". The reason is written on the post, and most failures take one button to fix.

Where to read the reason

  • Calendar: click the post. The reason is in red under its title, with the buttons that fix it.
  • Today: click the post in the week view (it reads "09:00 · failed") for Retry and Remove, or Open in Calendar for the reason.
  • Accounts: open the account, then Posts and the Failed filter.

What the messages mean

A post marked On hold has not failed. TikTok signed its account out, and the post waits until you reconnect; see Reconnect a TikTok account.

MessageWhat to do
"TikTok access expired. Reconnect the account and try again."Click Reconnect, then Retry after reconnecting. See Reconnect a TikTok account.
"The account was connected without posting permission. Reconnect and grant all requested permissions."Reconnect and allow everything TikTok asks for.
"TikTok has paused posting for this account because too many posts were made in a short time. Try again later."Reelazy slows the account down by itself. See TikTok says too many posts.
"This account has too many posts still being processed by TikTok. Wait for them to finish, then try again."Post or delete the drafts waiting in your TikTok inbox, then Retry.
"TikTok flagged the title or caption as spam. Edit the text and try again."Change the caption, then post it again.
"TikTok did not confirm this post within 30 minutes, so Reelazy stopped waiting."Look in the TikTok app first. If the post or inbox draft is there, it went out. If not, Retry.
"Not posted: scheduled posts need Pro, and your Pro plan has ended."Click Post now, or upgrade and Reschedule (Pro).
"Not posted: this TikTok account is beyond your plan's account limit."Click See plans. See Plans and limits.
"TikTok has blocked this account from posting through apps. Post from the TikTok app instead."Post from the TikTok app for now. Posts scheduled during the block move to after it by themselves. See TikTok says too many posts.
"TikTok didn't accept the image size. Try again; if it fails twice, contact support."Click Retry. If it fails again, contact support.
"TikTok could not download the slide images. Try posting again." or "TikTok couldn't download the video. Try again."Click Retry.
"TikTok had a problem on its side. Try again in a few minutes."Wait a few minutes, then click Retry.
"The video is too long or too short for this TikTok account. Trim it and post it again."Trim the video, then post it again.
"TikTok didn't accept the video's frame rate. Export it at 30 fps and post it again."Export the video again at 30 fps, then post it again.
"TikTok didn't accept the file format. Try again; if it fails twice, contact support."Click Retry. If it fails again, contact support. For a video, saving it as an MP4 usually fixes it.
"The post was cancelled before TikTok finished it. Try again."Click Retry.
"Reelazy's access to this TikTok account was removed while the post was processing. Reconnect the account, then try again."Reconnect the account, then click Retry. See Reconnect a TikTok account.
"TikTok flagged this post as a spam risk and didn't publish it. Change the caption and slides before you post it again."Don't retry it as it is. Change the caption and slides, then post it again.
"TikTok couldn't publish this post. Try again; if it fails twice, contact support."The reason isn't one Reelazy knows yet. Click Retry once. If it fails again, contact support.

Tip: Reelazy keeps TikTok's own reason with every failed post, so support can look it up. Send us the post's time and the message you see.

Fix it

  1. Read the reason and fix what it names, if anything.
  2. Click Retry. Calendar says "Queued for another try" and the post goes out again within about a minute.
  3. If you don't want the post any more, click Remove. A draft you approved on Today goes back to To review.

If Retry answers "This post has no images left to publish. Create it again from the editor.", make the post again from its draft.

What Reelazy retries by itself

When TikTok is busy (rate limits, slide images it couldn't download, too many posts), Reelazy tries a scheduled post again after 5 minutes, then after 10, up to 3 tries in all. While it waits, the reason ends in "Retrying in 5 min." You don't need to do anything.

A post TikTok is still processing may show "Reelazy couldn't check this post with TikTok yet. It checks again in a minute." It hasn't failed. The line goes away at the next check.

Why it happens

Reelazy hands each post to TikTok through TikTok's official API. TikTok can refuse a post at once or fail it while processing. Reelazy shows TikTok's reason in plain words, and emails it to you when Problems emails are on in Settings.
