Inbox or Direct
Choose how approved posts reach TikTok - in your TikTok inbox to finish in the app, or straight to your profile at their time.
Each account sends approved posts to TikTok in one of two ways. Inbox puts each post in your TikTok inbox at its time: you add a sound in the TikTok app and tap Post. Direct posts it straight to your profile at its time, with the choices you made when you approved it.
Steps
Switch an account between Inbox and Direct
- In Today, find the account's group under To review.
- Click Inbox or Direct next to the account. It saves for that account right away.
The same setting is in the account's Settings tab, under TikTok and posting → How posts reach TikTok: Send to the TikTok inbox or Post directly. Press Save after changing it.
Approve posts for a Direct account
- Press Approve, or Approve all for a group. The dialog Post these 5 to TikTok opens and loads your TikTok account.
- Under Who can view these posts, pick one of the options TikTok offers for your account: Everyone, Friends, Followers or Only me.
- Under Allow users to, tick Comment if you want comments. Let TikTok add recommended music is up to you.
- If the posts promote your app, turn on Disclose commercial content and tick Your brand. Tick Branded content only for a paid partnership with another brand.
- Press Approve 5. Each post goes to your profile at its own time.
Good to know
- Direct asks every time. Who can view and comments start empty on every approval, as TikTok requires of apps that post for you. Only the music choice is remembered.
- One set of choices covers all the posts you approve in that dialog.
- With Inbox, you choose who can view, comments and the sound in the TikTok app when you finish the post.
- Branded content can't be posted as Only me.
- A Direct account posts at most 6 times in any 24 hours. Extra posts move to the next free time.
- A post with a drawn slide (a chart, table or drawing) carries TikTok's AI-generated label. Posts with only photos and text don't.
- Account settings mark Inbox as Recommended. For a new TikTok account, use the inbox for the first weeks. See Account health and daily pace.
- On Free, there is no switch: the post screen asks how to post each time, Post directly to TikTok or Send to TikTok inbox (finish posting in the app).
Note: The Inbox / Direct switch shows in Today only on Pro, and only when the account's TikTok is connected.
Warning: Finish or delete the posts waiting in your TikTok inbox. If too many wait there, TikTok can refuse new ones, and Reelazy slows the account to 1 post a day for 7 days.
If it doesn't work
- The dialog says it could not load the TikTok account, or "That privacy option is no longer available for this account. Choose again.": pick again, or reconnect the account.
- A post never reached your inbox or profile: see A post failed to send.
- TikTok said "too many posts": see TikTok says too many posts.
