TikTok 0 views on a new account: what it means and what to do
Exactly 0 views is a different problem from 200 views. A checklist that starts with TikTok's own tools, then what founders do when a whole account goes cold, and what does not cause it.

First, tell two problems apart:
- Exactly 0 views (or 1 or 2) after 24 hours. Something is stopping the post from being shown. That has a cause you can usually find.
- 100 to 1,000 views. The post is being shown and people are not staying. That is normal for a new account and a content question, not a ban. Founders who run many accounts say the same: low views are not a shadowban.
This page is about the first case. For setting up a new account the right way, see how to set up a TikTok account for your app.
Check with TikTok's own tools first
- Is the account public and the post set to Everyone? A post set to Friends or Only me gets no For You views.
- Open the post's Analytics. If a post is not eligible for the For You feed, TikTok shows the reason there and lets you appeal. Turn on Analytics in TikTok Studio if you have not. TikTok Help Center
- Run Account check (in TikTok Studio or the Safety Center). It shows whether the account has restrictions on posting or reach. TikTok Help Center
- Wait out the review. New posts are reviewed, and a post still under review is not recommended yet. On a new account this can take hours.
If any of these shows a problem, fix that first: appeal, remove the post that broke a rule, change the privacy setting.
Causes TikTok confirms
- Reused content. Posting something that already exists on TikTok with nothing new, someone else's slideshow or your own post again, is not eligible for For You. Make every post new. (Community Guidelines)
- Undisclosed promotion. A post that promotes your product without the commercial content disclosure can be shown to fewer people. Turn on "Your brand" when you promote your own app. (Community Guidelines)
- A rule broken by the post or the account, which Account check and the post's Analytics will show.
When the whole account seems cold
Sometimes nothing shows up in the tools and every post still sits at 0. Founders who run many accounts call it a trust problem with the account rather than a content problem. What they do:
- Stop posting for 2 to 7 days. Estimates differ; 3 days is a reasonable middle.
- Use the app normally in that time. Watch, like and follow in your niche, a few minutes a day.
- Come back with 1 post a day, sent to your TikTok inbox and posted by hand with a trending sound.
- Expect a few hundred views on the first post back. That means the account is being shown again; from there it is about content.
If posts stay at 0 for another week or two after that, founders usually start a fresh account rather than keep pushing a dead one. That is experience, not a TikTok rule.
What does not cause 0 views
- The AI-generated label. TikTok says the label does not affect distribution.
- A link in your bio. New accounts cannot add a clickable link before 1,000 followers anyway.
- The number of hashtags. There is no official rule; use 3 to 5 that describe the post.
- "200-view jail". There is no official source for a fixed view cap.
If you post with Reelazy
- New accounts: use the inbox. Choose "Send to my TikTok inbox" for the account, approve the draft in Today, then open TikTok, add a sound and post. This is the mode we recommend for the first weeks.
- Every post is new. Reelazy writes and draws each post fresh, so reused-content limits do not apply.
- Turn on the disclosure in the post screen when the post promotes your app.
- Keep one post a day per account at first. Autopilot's default is one or two.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my new TikTok account get 0 views?
Usually the post is still under review, the post or account broke a rule (check the post's Analytics and Account check), the content was reused, or the account is new and posted before it was used normally. Low views (100 to 1,000) are different: that is normal reach for a new account.
Is 0 views a shadowban?
TikTok does not use that word. It does limit posts that are not eligible for For You and tells you why in the post's Analytics, where you can appeal.
How long should I wait before deleting a post with 0 views?
Give it 24 hours. Deleting and reposting the same content can count as reused content.
Should I start a new account?
Only after you have checked TikTok's tools, paused for a few days and posted fresh content once a day for another week or two without any views.
